From a viewpoint of an experienced CFI/CFII/MEI/ATP and mainline airline Captain, Pilotsmith is an established outfit with the perfect setup for any individual desiring to become a professional pilot either privately or Airline.
As a member of the rental club, I have been impressed with the upkeep of aircraft, and ease of communication with management staff if any issues arise. More recently I have had the pleasure of working with the instructor staff while checking out on the Cirrus fleet. The structured learning, and welcoming environment is perfectly set up for success. Anytime you walk into the lobby you will witness both instructors and students “talking shop” and enjoying the camaraderie of the fellow pilots as they learn from each others experiences.
The school portion of the club is a top notch organization as well. Sitting in on some orientations, as my son is looking at doing his flight training here, is quite amazing on how detailed they have thought the whole process through. Students are set up day one of private to be able to blow their CFI rating out of the water as they are encouraged to “teach” the CFI throughout the maneuvers as they work through their ratings. Once at CFI level, it’s just a matter of flying in the right seat as everything else has been polished to perfection.
If this wasn’t enough, the students are put through an “airline prep” to widen the students thought process in key areas that will be the main focus in the airline interview process. As someone that has previously been through this process, the preparation that Pilotsmith puts their students through will absolutely set the students up for success, and shows rough their amazing success rate of previous students into the professional pilot world.
