Post 9/11 flight schools must either verify citizenship of student pilots OR obtain permission from the Department of Homeland Security before beginning flight training with a student.

New student pilots must prove citizenship in the United States. This can be accomplished with the following documents:

  • Valid U.S. Passport OR
  • Valid State Issue Photo ID (Drivers License) AND Certified Birth Certified (Raised Seal)

Students that are not citizens may still conduct flight training after receiving permission for Alien Flight School Program.
